We deliver technical consultancy and application delivery to our clients in order to solve real world problems and allow our clients to respond to an ever-changing technical landscape. We partner closely with our clients, embedding our consultants into their businesses in order to provide a bespoke service, allowing us to truly understand our clients’ needs.

We operate as a flat organisation and believe in trusting and supporting our team to operate independently. We pride ourselves on being specialists at what we do, making the most of our consultants’ expertise in their fields in order to provide a best-in-class service to our clients. All our consultants have the opportunity to work on a range of different projects, providing a broad range of knowledge on which to develop their careers and progress in the direction they choose.

We are looking for candidates who are interested in a career in technology to join us as Graduate Technical Consultants in our Technology Consulting practice.

The role:

This is a graduate role sitting within our Technology Consulting Practice. You will be supporting our team on projects for our private and public sector clients and assisting in the design of bespoke business solutions for implementation into delivery.

You will ideally share our values and be aligned with our ways of working. As your career progresses, you can expect to work across all areas of the development lifecycle, from strategy to development to implementation, and to take on assignments in different sectors. This will provide you with a broad base of experience from which to build an outstanding career

We find that our technology consultants in the highest demand have a very broad knowledge base, and at least some experience in all areas (but are likely to have specialist knowledge in one or two). We recognise that graduates may not yet know where they want to specialise, so to help you decide your ideal pathway and give you a breadth of experience, you will have the opportunity to try different roles on different projects before deciding your chosen specialisms.

Typically, you will work on a particular project for 6-12 months before moving on to a new challenge. You will be part of a larger team, working with and receiving on-the-job support from senior consultants. As a technical consultant, naturally, you will work closely with our clients, helping to ensure that the project delivers great outcomes.

Candidates should be open to working in different locations for different clients. Although most of our work is in London, candidates should be happy to travel as client needs dictate.

Responsibilities:

  • For the first 12-18 months, you will be predominantly concentrating on developing your skills in software development.
  • Responsible for aiding the design for new systems and solutions for implementation into live service delivery.
  • Working closely with clients to understand their needs.
  • Being part of a larger team - working and learning from senior architects within the team.
  • Regular communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Helping to develop technical reports and providing support for bids on new projects.
  • Helping with internal applications or other work when possible.

Requirements

The role will suit someone with a genuine interest in technology and strong desire to deliver the best possible solutions for our clients. You will be confident in critical thinking, enjoy tackling difficult problems in a structured way and are highly motivated self-starters. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence to communicate with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Scientific or technical degree, or equivalent experience
  • Some experience in software development, using Python, Java  or .Net (or related technologies)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken word with an ability to successfully engage with team members and clients
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Willingness to continually learn
  • An interest in future technologies
  • Some understanding of the software development lifecycle, including Agile methodologies, is desirable but not essential.
